Local Programs & Services

Programs offered directly by the Winthrop Harbor Police Department to serve our community. Submit requests and register loved ones through our secure Frontline portal — available from any device, any time.

Vacation Watch

Heading out of town? Let us know. Enter your address and the dates you'll be away, and your home will be added to the list of properties officers check while on patrol. When an officer checks your home, you'll receive an email letting you know everything looked fine, or if there was a problem. It's peace of mind while you're away.

Vacation watches are for homes that will be vacant for three or more days. Checks are made as calls for service allow, so please continue to take basic precautions: lock doors and windows, put lights on timers, and stop mail and newspaper delivery.

At-Risk Resident Registry

Some of our neighbors need a little extra care. The At-Risk Resident Registry allows families and caregivers to voluntarily share important information with the Police Department about loved ones who may need special help in an emergency. This includes residents with autism, dementia or Alzheimer's disease, developmental disabilities, or medical conditions, as well as those who may wander or have difficulty communicating.

If a registered resident goes missing or officers respond to a call involving them, the information you provide — such as a photo, physical description, emergency contacts, and places they might go — helps officers respond quickly, communicate effectively, and bring your loved one home safely.

Registration is completely voluntary, and the information is used only by Police Department personnel in the performance of their duties. Frontline does not share the information it collects with third parties.
